Between now and the end of April, we will be feature some of the stars of tomorrow. Many of these are names from big time college football programs you will recognize, while some will be new to all but the most dedicated followers of the sport.
Next up on our list is Nazair Jones, a defensive tackle out of North Carolina who declared for the NFL Draft after his junior year at the Tar Heels in the ACC.
Jones was a two time third-team All-ACC pick by the league media after putting together a couple of strong seasons on the defensive line in Chapel Hill. He is an interesting story after having a disease in high school that almost made him have to give up football when he lost a staggering 50 pounds in just one month. As a result his recruiting was light, but Jones made the most of the opportunity he was given when signing and starring for North Carolina.
As you can see from this video, Jones is an incredibly disruptive presence on the defensive line. He had 9.5 tackles for a loss in 2016 as a junior, a very impressive number for a DT. Jones though is seen as something od a sleeper in this draft because the NFL scouts like guys who are abe to get to the quarterback. If Jones can add this to his game, then some team will be getting a steal in the latter half of the 2017 NFL Draft.
