The Horned Frogs used a 2-0 week to jump from No. 15 — past their previous high of No. 13 (February 1998) — to No. 12 in the Week 8 AP Rankings. They are one of just two undefeated teams remaining in the country. The other two are ranked inside the top three: No. 1 Villanova and No. 3 Arizona State.
TCU's five-spot jump tied Oklahoma for the most of any ranked team. The Sooners also went 2-0, which included a 26-point demolition of Northwestern.

Good Weeks
Seventeen teams went 2-0 last week. In addition to Villanova, Arizona State, TCU and Oklahoma, Texas A&M joined the top five for just the second time in program history. Tennessee has their highest ranking since 2010-11.

Bad Weeks
Four teams fell at least eight spots, led by Miami (FL) and Kentucky's nine-spot plummets. The Hurricanes' suffered their first loss, an ugly 63-54 defeat to New Mexico State, while the Wildcats lost their lone game of the week, 83-75 to UCLA.
Gonzaga and North Carolina also fell eight spots apiece with 1-1 weeks. The Tar Heels were stunned at home by Wofford, 79-75, and fell outside the top 10.

Opportunities to Enter Top 25
Arkansas missed the top 25 by 58 voting points, though they will be ranked next week if they beat Tennessee at home on Saturday in their SEC opener. Clemson (No. 27) could potentially do the same with a win over North Carolina State in their ACC opener, also on Saturday.
Elsewhere, Texas (No. 30) hosts Kansas and Louisville (No. 29) visits Kentucky.

Opportunities to Fall From Top 25
Creighton enters conference play on a five-game winning streak but they visit Seton Hall on Thursday. While the Pirates are a formidable foe, the No. 25 Bluejays have little margin for error to remain in the top 25. Conversely, Seton Hall could fall out with a loss.
Also in jeopardy of falling out are Florida State (at Duke) and Texas Tech (vs. Baylor).
