The Atlanta Dream signed free agents Betnijah Laney and Jaylyn Agnew the franchise announced on Wednesday.
The signings come after two Dream starters have opted out of playing the 2020 WNBA season in Tiffany Hayes and Renee Montgomery.
Laney was waived by the Indiana Fever less than a week ago and was originally drafted by the Chicago Sky as the No. 17 overall pick in the 2015 draft. The six-foot guard comes to Atlanta after averaging 5.6 points, 4.2 rebounds after playing over 25 minutes per game in 2019.

"Betnijah is an important pick up for us because of her experience and her tenacity at both ends of the floor," said Dream head coach Nicki Collen per release. "She will give us size and versatility at the defensive end of the floor as we look for ways to absorb the loss of all-defensive player Tiffany Hayes."
Agnew will be one of the youngest additions to the Dream after being drafted No. 24 overall in the 2020 draft by the Washington Mystics. The five-foot-eleven forward was named the 2020 Big East Player of the Year her senior campaign at Creighton after averaging 21 points per contest.
"I believe Jaylyn is the ultimate sleeper and we were prepared to draft her before Washington beat us to the punch," Collen said. "I have had the opportunity to follow her career from when she was first playing club basketball in high school all the way to seeing her earn Big East Player of the Year. She is an effortless shooter, with a quick release and has the quickness to keep defenders honest off the bounce."
The WNBA players have until June 25 to let their team know if they will opt out of this season. Training camp and season are set to begin in July, although official start dates have yet to be announced.
