Betting Futures for the 2018-19 MLB Season

It’s the end of March and that can mean only one thing — the MLB season has arrived. With the coming of spring, various online casinos will now be rolling out new promotions to compete with the oncoming of the sports gambling season.

There are various online casino games that might be worth checking out if you are interested in something different before game day. Online bookmakers will offer a variety of future book wagering opportunities for baseball fans and sports gamblers. Check out these futures.

The most common betting categories are:

  • Team to win the American League Pennant
  • Team to win the National League Pennant
  • Team to Win the World Series
  • Total Games won for the season by each team (out of 162 games)

The purpose of this article is to give readers a little inside information they could use make futures odds bets on their favorite teams. Using total games won for the season, we will look at three teams that offer great value:

AL: West | Central | East
NL: West | Central | East

Boston Red Sox (90.5 games)

Last year, the Red Sox won the AL East, winning 93 games in the process. They did this in spite of the fact they suffered a major setback when SP David Price missed much of the season due to injuries. The team also lacked power in the middle of the lineup. This forced them to claw and scratch to push runs across the plate.

It looks like Price is back, feeling well and ready to go. The team also signed a significant power-hitter in OF J.D. Martinez, who will sit in the middle of the lineup after hitting 45 home runs last year. The division rival New York Yankees are going to win a lot of games, but the rest of the AL East teams figure to struggle. This is a very good team and 95 wins looks like a floor, not a ceiling. Bet over 90.5 games at -120.

Kansas City Royals (71.5 games)

After making it to the World Series in 2015 and 2016 (World Champs), the Royals had its struggles in 2017. The team was plagued with a rash of injuries to the pitching staff, leaving the offense with too much to do. The new season brings bad news as the Royals as the team lost its two best offensive players (Eric Hosmer, Lorenzo Cain) to free agency.

It’s clear the Royals are moving into rebuild mode. They play in the AL Central with some very good teams, which includes Cleveland, Minnesota and an vastly improved Chicago White Sox team. Expectations are low, but the Royals will be lucky to get past 66 wins. Bet under 71.5 games at -120.

Washington Nationals (92.5 games)

In 2017, the Nationals won 97 games. They did this while superstars SS Trea Turner and OF Bryce Harper missed a good portion of the season with injuries. There’s other minor issues, but those players are healthy. As for pitching, Stephen Strasburg and Max Scherzer (2017 Cy Young award winner) represent the best 1-2 punch in all of baseball.

The NL East is improving, but there are questions and it’s questionable whether any of the other teams and win over 80 games. The bookmakers might have missed this one by a mile. Bet over 92.5 games at any price.
