An important thought that has nothing to do with gambling or this article: did Joey from Dawson's Creek grow up to marry Councilman Carcetti in The Wire? Because I'm on my second viewing of both shows right now, and it kind of seems like she did. We're going to get the HERO Sports research team on that ASAP.

Happy Opening Day, everybody. My Orioles are taking on Minnesota on an overcast mid-atlantic day, and my cashola is firmly supporting an Orioles runline of -1.5 +160. Here's to hoping the good version of Dylan Bundy shows up, eh?
That's a bonus lean for you kids, after Wednesday's easy totals win in the CBI championship series. We backed a low-scoring game between North Texas and San Francisco and came in 20 points under the posted total. Not bad.
Today's we'll continue to milk the final days of college basketball season for all they're worth.

Utah vs Penn State (-4), 7:00 p.m. EST
Total: 135.5
Oh, Utah. We just can't quit you.
Free Pick Flashback: Utah Upsets No. 1 seed St. Mary's
This is now the third time we've bet on a Utah game in the NIT. We liked Utah to cover against St. Mary's but we backed Western Kentucky in the semifinals.
Now, in the NIT championship, we get Utah and Penn State. It's a worthy title game, and — more importantly for our purposes — a fairly even match. The Nittany Lions enter on the heels of a blowout win in the semifinal round, where they beat the breaks off Mississippi State. With that result fresh in our mind, PSU might be just a tad bit overvalued.
Utah might not be the favorite to win the title game, but the Utes are 4-0 ATS in the NIT. They're a better-shooting team and a better defensive team. They're also an older team than Penn State, and in the last game of the season, I expect that to matter.
The line has already moved from +4.5 to +4 this morning; grab it before the line moves to +3.5.
Pick: Utah +4
