Big 12 Fantasy Football Draft: Jalen Hurts No. 1, Zero Running Backs in First Round

Big 12 Fantasy Football Draft: Jalen Hurts No. 1, Zero Running Backs in First Round

Jalen Hurts was the No. 1 pick in my Big 12 fantasy football league for the 2019 season.

I selected Hurts with the first pick in a league with other Big 12 football writers. I opted for the Oklahoma quarterback (in a league that allows a maximum of two quarterbacks on each roster) over Sam Ehlinger, who went second, followed by Baylor quarterback Charlie Brewer. Hurts was the first of 28 Oklahoma players selected, nearly twice as many as the next highest team (Texas, 15). Kansas State had the fewest players (seven), and no other team had fewer than 12.

CeeDee Lamb (No. 4) was first non-quarterback off the board and one of three receivers selected in the first round. Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard was the first running back selected; he was the first pick of the second round in the eight-team league.

Here are the full draft results:
