Jacki Gemelos has once again been signed by the Connecticut Sun the team announced last week.
After being waived prior to the roster cut-down date, Gemelos had been signed to a training camp deal after a monster season overseas. The addition comes after a wave of players have chosen to opt out of the 2020 season including the Sun's Jonquel Jones.
"Before the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Jacki was playing some of the best basketball of her career," said Sun head coach Curt Miller. "She is a veteran guard that adds versatility and depth to our backcourt."

The six-foot guard was originally drafted as the No. 31 overall pick in the 2012 WNBA draft by the Minnesota Lynx. Gemelos has spent time with the Chicago Sky in 2015 and was signed by the Las Vegas Aces prior to the 2018 season. She has extensive international experience playing at top level competition in Greece, Italy and Spain.
In this unique and uncertain season, you can't undervalue the impact of a positive player with a reputation as a uniter can have on a team," Miller added. "I truly appreciate Jacki's history of fighting through adversity and gratitude through these unprecedented times. She is someone I want in the foxhole with us in Florida."
The WNBA season is scheduled to begin at the end of July and the 22-game regular season will be held at IMG Academy in Florida.
