Darkwa ranked 16th in scoring among running backs in Week 6 with 13 points in standard scoring leagues. His 117 rushing yards were seventh, ahead of must-start studs Todd Gurley and Melvin Gordon. The latter pair played 49 and 58 snaps and ranked sixth and third in the league, respectively.
Darkwa ranked 36th with 27 snaps.
While snaps don't tell the full story of a running game or individual production (e.g. Charles Sims also played 27 snaps but had four total touches, none of which were rushing attempts), it's still a sobering reminder that even as the Giants maintained a two-score lead throughout most of their win over Broncos, Ben McAdoo spread the wealth. Rookie Wayne Gallman — a popular waiver wire addition the last two weeks after recording back-to-back 11-carry games (on 37 and 21 snaps, respectively) — and veteran Shane Vereen combined for 27 snaps.
For now, Darkwa is the player to add, retain and start from a Giants' backfield that is more and more resembling a Belichick-like rotation that prompts fantasy outbursts. However, until McAdoo proves his trust in Darkwa, who until Monday night had never eclipsed 25 snaps in a game, fantasy owners needs to have realistic expectations for the formerTulane star.
