Twelve men's basketball teams are undefeated in conference play. Florida Gulf Coast and Vermont are among the three with least a 40-percent chance of running the table into their respective conference tournaments.
Florida Gulf Coast's 25-point demolition of Jacksonville on Saturday was their 11th victory in a row and improved their Atlantic Sun record to 9-0, good enough for a three-game lead with just five games left in the regular season. If the Eagles win out, it will be their first undefeated conference season and the first undefeated record in the Atlantic Sun since Charleston (16-0) in 1996-97.
According to the Yale Undergraduate Sports Analytics Group, Florida Gulf Coast has the best chance to finish the regular season without a conference loss at 45.3 percent, just one-half percent above Vermont (44.8). The Catamount's own blowout win on Saturday (vs. UMBC) gave them a 9-0 mark in the America East with seven games remaining.
Here are the odds for each of the 12 remaining unbeatens (via Luke Benz):
|1||Florida Gulf Coast||45.3%|
|3||New Mexico State||42%|
|5||East Tennessee State||33.5%|
