Earlier this week, the Indiana Fever announced a pair of roster moves prior to the start of the season as Stephanie Mavunga will rejoin the active roster and Betnijah Laney has been released.
Mavunga was listed as non-active most recently, but will rejoin the team for her third season. The six-foot-three forward was drafted and the No. 14 overall pick by the Fever in the 2018 draft.
"We welcome Stephanie back to the court and look forward to a great training camp leading into the 2020 regular season," said Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Tamika Catchings per release.
Mavunga has played in 49 games with the Fever averaging 2.3 points, 2.3 rebounds in eight minutes per game.
"Betnijah was a key member to our Fever team last season and we certainly appreciate the work she did on and off the court," said Catchings. "We will miss having her as part of our organization."
Laney played for the Fever in 2019 averaging 5.6 points, 4.2 rebounds in 26 minutes per game and starting 27 out of 34 contests. The four year vet was originally drafted by the Chicago Sky as the No. 17 overall pick in the 2015 WNBA draft.
The Fever's current roster sits at 12. It is unknown at this time when the official start date of the 2020 training camp and season will begin, but games are tentatively set to begin at the end of July. All 22 games and playoffs are set to take place at IMG Academy in Florida.
