The Las Vegas Aces have signed Russian National Team forward Raisa Musina to a training camp contract prior to the 2020 season.
Musina is a member of powerhouse UMMC and has played with the team since 2017. UMMC has become well known over the years to be the WNBA offseason destination of many top players like Brittney Griner (Phoenix Mercury), Breanna Stewart (Seattle Storm), Emma Meesseman (Washington Mystics), Diana Taurasi (Phoenix Mercury) and Candace Parker (Los Angeles Sparks).

The 21-year-old was originally drafted in the second round of the 2018 draft as the No. 21 overall pick by the Phoenix Mercury. She was waived prior to the start of the WNBA season as she never attended training camp. This is an intriguing sign because anyone who has seen her play and followed European basketball, sees the tremendous potential the young star could bring to the league.
At six-foot-four she can stretch the floor and shoots the ball exceptionally well. Her length and versatility has caught the eye of many league members for the last few years as she has continued to grow her name and recognition in Russia. Musina is currently averaging just over 10 points and seven rebounds per game in Russia for UMMC and will represent the Russian National Team. In the u19 World Cup championship game, Musina dropped 33-points against the United States.
It was only a matter of time before Munisa's name was brought back into the WNBA fold. It will be interesting to see if she can land a spot with the already star-studded Las Vegas roster.
