WNBA: Las Vegas Aces Sign Alex Bentley to 2020 Roster

The Las Vegas Aces announced the addition of Alex Bentley to the roster for the 2020 season. The former WNBA All-Star was signed as a free agent following the announcement that Kelsey Plum would not play this season due to an Achilles injury.

"I am extremely excited to join the Las Vegas Aces," said Bentley following the announcement. "Thanking God, the team and the entire Aces organization for this wonderful opportunity. Let's get it!"

The seven-year WNBA veteran was originally drafted by the Atlanta Dream and the No. 13 overall pick in the 2013 draft. She was then traded to the Connecticut Sun in 2014 and traded back to the Dream prior to the 2019 season. During her career she has been named to the All-Rookie Team in 2013 and was named a WNBA All-Star in 2015.

2015 was a breakout year for the combo guard after she averaged 14.7 points per game and close to two steals per game. Bentley provides experience at the guard spot with the ability to initiate the offense and stretch the floor with her shooting ability, two things the Aces desperately needed.

The five-foot-eight guard also has played professionally overseas with top clubs in Russia, France and Turkey. During her WNBA career she has averaged 10.6 points, 3.0 assists in 24 minutes per game while shooting 29.6 percent beyond the arc.

Training camp and an exact start date for the WNBA season has yet to be announced. Games are set to begin late July at this time.
