After spending the previous three seasons at Pitt, Yacine Diop will transfer to Louisville for her final season of eligibility. Diop averaged 15.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game for the Panthers last season. The 5'10 forward will be eligible to play immediately due to NCAA graduate transfer rules.

Diop started all games in her first two seasons for the Panthers only to miss the 2016-2017 season due to injury. As a redshirt junior, she became a member of the 1,000 point club tallying 1,093 career points at No.18 on Pitts all-time scoring list.
Jeff Walz and his staff were all too familiar with Diop as the ACC foes squared off twice this past year. Diop went off tying her career high of 26 points in the loss to Louisville back in January. Check out highlights from that game here.
Diop is a highly athletic, versatile scorer who can play with her back to the basket down low or face up on the perimeter. She poses a nice mid-range jumper and is capable of shooting it beyond the arc. Though different in many ways, she will certainly soften the blow of losing Louisville's lone senior, Myisha Hines-Allen to graduation. Hines-Allen averaged 14 points and 9.6 rebounds per game for the Cardinals.
After a 36-3 record and Final Four appearance this past season, Louisville is set for another deep tournament run as they return everyone but Hines-Allen.
