There was a lot of pink at Mark Light Field last Friday. Not because Miami baseball players forgot sun block on beach day; because the Hurricanes were donning gorgeous uniforms for cancer awareness.
The Canes wore pink uniforms for the first time since last March, when they beat Louisville on a walk-off grand slam in white and pink digs. And though their game against Georgia Tech on Friday wasn't as dramatic, it was still a good day for cancer awareness and Miami baseball.
They scored a season-high 10 runs — which they topped in a 17-7 win over the Yellow Jackets on Sunday — to claim the series opener.
