Cutler Martin will be taking some time off after delivering a vicious cheap shot to the head of an Ohio State player following the Wolverines' wild 8-6 win on Sunday. Martin, a sophomore defenseman from East Lansing, Mich., was fighting with Ohio State freshman forward Brendon Kearney after the final horn sounded.
All was fair and adequately appropriate until the pair fell to the ice and a referee intervened. That's when Martin demolished Kearney with a violent sucker punch to the head after his opponent was clearly subdued and had conceded the battle:

Fighting is already a huge no-no in college hockey and Martin's actions will surely earn him a suspension.
