Vice President Mike Pence was in the house for the Indianapolis Colts' showdown with the San Francisco 49ers — for a minute at least. When players knelt for the national anthem, Pence decided to take his business elsewhere.

I left today's Colts game because @POTUS and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem.

It seems a little strange that Pence and his wife were even at the game, considering President Donald Trump called for a boycott of the NFL just two weeks ago when he retweeted this tweet:
You can boycott our anthem

Soon after Pence left the building, Trump tweeted out that he had directed Pence to leave the stadium if players "kneeled":
