Montevallo Men’s Soccer Faces Challenging Non-Conference Schedule

The University of Montevallo men’s soccer team will take on a challenging slate of exhibition matches this spring in preparation for the 2014 season.

The Falcons will face two NCAA Division I foes in exhibition matches this spring.

Montevallo will open its spring schedule Feb. 22 with a pair of matches against UAB and Memphis in Birmingham, Ala. The Falcons will face UAB at 11 a.m. before taking on Memphis at 1 p.m. The Blazers went 12-5-1 last season, while the Tigers finished the year with a 9-8-1 mark.

The Falcons will take on West Alabama and host UAH in a pair of matches on March 8 in Huntsville, Ala.

Montevallo will also participate in a 7 v 7 tournament at UAB on March 15.

Montevallo will travel to Montgomery, Ala. to take on Auburn University-Montgomery and Faulkner University in a pair of matches on April 5.

The Falcons will close out their exhibition schedule as they face West Florida and Spring Hill College in a pair of matches on April 12.

Montevallo claimed its third Peach Belt Conference tournament championship in four years under the direction of first-year head coach Bruce Dietterle in 2013.
