Myles Garrett will be one of the first players off the board in the 2017 NFL Draft. The Texas A&M defensive end is the No. 2 overall player on NFL Draft expert Todd Worly's big board, and could end up in Cleveland with the No. 1 overall pick. Wherever he lands, Garrett will do everything in his power to bring one thing with him: tacos. Specifically, Fuego tacos.
In a heartfelt Player's Tribune piece published Thursday morning, Garrett thanked Texas A&M fans and supporters for everything they've done to make him feel welcome during his time in College Station. He also made it a point to give one local taco joint an emotional goodbye:
"I would be remiss if I didn’t mention something else I’ll miss deeply: Fuego, the finest taco dispensary on the planet. Those tacos were always there for me when I needed them most. Wherever I end up next, I will do whatever I can to make sure that Fuego opens a franchise in that city. This is something that is very important to me." – Myles Garrett
This is a man who loves him some tacos.
Fuego Tortilla Grill is a drive-through Mexican restaurant, just across the street from the main S Texas Street entrance to the Texas A&M campus. Fuego has an average of 4.5 stars across 314 reviews on Google, but 5-stars in Garrett's heart. Check out the Fuego Tortilla Grill website before it crashes. Tacos for under $4?? No wonder Garrett is emotional.
The NFL Draft has a pretty rigid salary scale, but there's no specific mention of tacos. No word yet about whether or not Garrett will try to work a Fuego Tortilla Grill clause into his rookie contract.
Also, I feel like I have to shoehorn this in: the No. 2 defensive end in this draft is Taco Charleton. There must be a joke there but I need to get this piece published so hit us up with your best Taco vs. taco jokes below.
