Two weeks ago, we told you that Indiana Wesleyan was one of your new favorite football teams because of their incredible helmets. Montana Western should also be on your radar after the Bulldogs unveiled a cool new logo.
The University of Montana Western is a small public school about two hours southwest of Bozeman in the small town of Dillon. Their eight athletic teams primarily compete in the Frontier Conference and they are one of very few schools who sponsor a Rodeo team.
The school has been undergoing a major rebranding over the last seven months and revealed a sweet new logo at their Alumni Weekend activities on April 21.
“Creating something that did not copy existing bulldog mascots was no easy task," said athletics director Russ Richardson. "We knew, though, that we wanted something that reflected current design trends, was not dated and avoided a ‘cartoonish’ look.
They certainly achieved the goal of something intense, fearless and distinct:
“We are excited to share the results of this branding process,” said Montana Western Chancellor Beth Weatherby. “The committee worked hard to create an updated and unique symbol based on a well thought-out strategy.”
