Let’s take a trip back to April 24, 2016, when Paul Millsap went off for 45 points for the Atlanta Hawks against the Boston Celtics, his highest single-game scoring showing since 2013.
In that outing, Millsap finished 19-for-31 on his way to the 45 points, shooting, including 3-for-6 from beyond the arc. He also earned six free throw attempts, and made four from the charity stripe. Millsap grabbed 13 rebounds to record a double-double in the game as well.
This was Millsap’s only 45-point performance in the 2015-16 season and the only time he eclipsed the 45-point mark since 2013.
Atlanta fell 104-95 in the game in spite of Millsap’s scoring outburst. Jeff Teague added to Millsap’s performance with 13 points, and Kyle Korver added 10 points. The Celtics were led by Isaiah Thomas’ 28 points in the win.
This was the only time since 2013 that Millsap has scored 45 points or more against Boston.
