BR-19 Louisville soccer was a very young team last season, and it showed in their 7-9-3 overall record. There were flashes of greatness, though, as the Cardinals gave a glimpse of what the future might hold.
Up front is a three-headed monster in Tate Schmitt (7 goals, 4 assists), junior Tim Kubel (5 goals, 3 assists) and senior Daniel Johnson (5 goals). The young trio were ranked 1-2-3, respectively, in total points. So on offense they're set, but the defensive end is a bit murkier. Last year, the Cardinals employed a three-man rotation of Theo Jamilloux (8 starts), Nick Jeffs (6 starts) and Casey Axman (5 starts) at keeper. None of the trio graduated, which makes the battle for starts one to watch.

2015 Finish: 7-9-3 (Lost to Wake Forest in ACC 2nd Round, 2-1 OT)
Key Returners: Tate Schmitt (F); Tim Kubel (MF)
Games to Watch: Sept. 16 vs Notre Dame; Oct. 7 vs. Syracuse

What Else? Last season, Louisville had 11 freshmen on the roster. With a year of experience under their belts, expect this group to be much better than they were in 2015.
