This 2016 BR-3 UNC soccer team is stacked from top to bottom. The squad returns its three top scorers, along with its starting goalie. Tucker Hume (11 goals, 5 assists), Alan Winn (6 goals, 4 assists) and Zach Wright (5 goals, 5 assists) will provide the Tar Heels with a three-headed monster up front, just as they did last year. And James Pyle will still be reliable between the sticks. He registered six shutouts in 15 starts and held a 0.67 goals against average last season.
Leading the Tarheels into the season are captains Walker Hume and Colton Storm. Add in 5-star recruit Cam Lindley (MF) and UCSB transfer Drew Murphy, and North Carolina is primed to make a run at the D1 Men's Soccer National Title, let alone the ACC title.

What Else? Head coach Carlos Somoano told HERO Sports: "Rebuilding the central portion of the field on both defense and in the midfield will be the biggest challenge in the preseason with the loss of several three- and four-year starters, including 2016 MLS SuperDraft first round picks Jonathan Campbell, Omar Holness and Jordan McCrary."
