It was Boston University, full stop, and then everyone else in Patriot League women's soccer last year. The Terriers rumbled to a decisive league title and even won an NCAA Tournament match over Saint John's (NY).
The jostling behind BU was as unpredictable as ever, with Bucknell claiming a surprising second place to the Terriers. The battle in mid-table in this league is almost always tightly-run, meaning while Boston University will likely be heavy favorites to win the league again, picking the other five postseason participants is not such an easy task.
Let's take a look at the Patriot League in our D1 Women's Soccer 2016 Preview. The projections below are my own, and they differ slightly from the preseason D1 Women's Soccer rankings by BennettRank since BR, as a computer poll, doesn't take roster turnover into account.
|Team (Preseason BennettRank)|
|1.||Boston University (BR-106)|
|6.||Loyola (MD) (BR-243)|
|7.||Army West Point (BR-235)|
|9.||Holy Cross (BR-270)|
