Since the last major restructuring in Conference USA women's soccer, the base of power has shifted to the Lone Star State, with North Texas and Rice stepping up as the dominant powers. The former won the double last year but got crushed by graduation losses, meaning the latter will likely be favored to top the league in 2016. Beyond the elite? It's a logjam. With the exception of the bottom three, every team looks to have reasonable shot at the postseason. It's still a long way away from the glory days of the past though when the likes of UCF and Memphis weren't just getting to the NCAA Tournament but competing in the event as well.
Let's take a look at Conference USA in our D1 Women's Soccer 2016 Preview. The projections below are my own, and they differ slightly from the preseason D1 Women's Soccer rankings by BennettRank since BR, as a computer poll, doesn't take roster turnover into account.
