It may be summer but college basketball programs never truly hit an ‘offseason.’ There's almost always some kind of action for each of the 24 D2 men’s basketball conferences, and something to discuss, including a 2015-16 review, BennettRank and how each program performed versus the pre-season polls. In some cases, there have been coaching changes and key losses, not to mention returning players to watch for once the season gets underway.
We stay in the South Central Region with a look at the Lone Star Conference.

Coaching and Membership Changes
Cameron: Assistant coach Andrew Brown was promoted to head coach after Nate Gamet, the LSC Coach of the Year last season, resigned to accept an administrative position at North Central Missouri College.
Eastern New Mexico: Midwestern State assistant Tres Segler becomes the 13th head coach in Eastern New Mexico history, replacing Stott Carter, who resigned after two seasons at the helm and a 13-42 record.
“We hired the top assistant in the Lone Star Conference, who is ready to be a head coach. That's not just me talking – that's coming from the head coaches in the LSC. I feel very good about the future of Greyhound basketball.” — Eastern New Mexico AD Jeff Geiser.
Texas-Permian Basin: UTPB is one of two new members to of the LSC to begin league play this season. The Odessa-based school previously was a member of the Heartland Conference.
Western New Mexico: Western New Mexico will not only have a new head coach, but also a new conference affiliation. Matt Enriquez returns to his alma mater as head coach replacing Jeff Law, who resigned after three seasons and a 6-72 record. The Mustangs are in their first season in the LSC after leaving the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
“Matt Enriquez is a perfect fit for the position. He was a standout player here and has developed into an outstanding coach. I feel that during the time that he spent as the interim head coach for the women's program proved he was ready to make the next step. His love for the university is invaluable.” — WNMU AD Mark Coleman
