It may be summer but college basketball programs never truly hit an 'offseason.' There's almost always some kind of action for each of the 24 D2 basketball conferences, and something to discuss, including a 2015-16 review, BennettRank and how each program performed versus the pre-season polls. There have been coaching changes key losses. There are players to watch for once the season gets underway.

We continue our tour through the Southeast Region with a look at the Peach Belt Conference.

Coaching Changes

Georgia Southwestern: Former Columbus State assistant Ben Hicks takes over as the new head coach at Georgia Southwestern. Hicks, who previously coached at D1 Jacksonville (Ala.) State and at the community college level, replaces Mike Leeder, who stepped down after 10 seasons and 243 career wins to focus on his duties as athletic director.

“I am confident that Ben will continue to build upon some of the recent success we have had in our men's basketball program. I am looking forward to watching his vision for the program evolve.” — Leeder
