As we turn the page onto 2018 and sit two months away from conference tournaments, much of the college basketball world has been flipped upside down thanks to unexpected non-conference runs from Arizona State, Oklahoma and others. And while it's still very early and more change will come, the 2018 NCAA Tournament field is beginning to take (a very rough) shape.
Oklahoma is one of seven Big 12 teams in the third edition of Bracketology, which ranks second among all conferences. The ACC has nine teams, led by (1) Duke and (2) North Carolina. The SEC is tied for second with seven teams, followed by the Big East (six), Pac-12 (five), Big Ten (three) and AAC (three).
There are seven multi-big leagues, and while the Big Sky is not one of them, there is still some buzz in Bozeman, Mont., where Montana State is chasing their first tourney bid since 1996. The Bobcats were a 16-seed in the second edition and remain on that line after a 2-0 start to conference play.
