Kansas rolled UC Davis 100-62 with all starters scoring at least 13 points. Frank Mason III led the way with 22 points and 8 assists.
The Spartans' first-round matchup with Miami was an interesting one. Michigan State trailed 19-8 with 12 minutes to play in the first half before completely flipping the momentum. The Spartans went into the half up 38-27, and cruised from there to a 78-58 victory.
The trio of Miles Bridges (18 points), Nick Ward (19 points) and Joshua Langford (13 points) was too much for Miami.
These two storied programs have met just two times in the NCAA Tournament — a Kansas win in 1986 and a Michigan State win in 2009, both in regional semifinal matchups.
