The up and down world of sports can sometimes take a little time to reveal itself. In other situations, however, the speed at which the agony can turn into ecstasy is much more immediate.
That was the case on Wednesday night for Notre Dame catcher Ryan Lidge in a game against Florida State in the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship. In this video, you can see the college baseball star almost take out a couple of his teammates when his bat slipped from his hands in a downpour. After recovering his bat, Lidge crushed a pitch off of the wall, scoring two runs and tying the game at three.
