Savannah State hit 14 three-pointers in a win over Morgan State on Monday. Their perimeter scoring accounted for 47.7 percent of their 88 total points, a staggering total for most college basketball teams. For the Division-II-bound Tigers, it's another day at the office.
More than 45 percent of Savannah State's total points this season have come from beyond the arc, the most in college basketball and more than double the three-point scoring share for 10 teams, including Chicago State and Kennesaw State both of whom score only 19.7 percent of their points from deep.
Eighteen teams score at least 40 percent of their points from three-point land. Savannah State is the only team above 45 percent (45.6 percent).
