Katie Lou Samuelson will rejoin USA Basketball in February as the team continues preparation for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
As a part of that preparation, Team USA continues a series of collegiate matchups against Connecticut and Louisville. The Jan. 27 game against UConn will be a homecoming for Samuelson, a two-time AAC Player of the Year who averaged more than 16 points over four seasons with the Huskies.
Other roster additions for Team USA's Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Serbia include Tiffany Mitchell (Indiana Fever) and Ariel Atkins (Washington Mystics). They will fill the roles of Diamond DeShields (Chicago Sky) and Diana Taurasi (Phoenix Mercury), who can no longer make the trip with Team USA.

Team USA will play their final collegiate exhibition contest against Louisville on February 2 before traveling to Europe. Angel McCoughtry (Atlanta Dream) will not be on the roster against Connecticut but will be when she returns home to Louisville to compete against her alma mater.
The final roster for the Olympic Qualifying tournament:
- Ariel Atkins (Washington Mystics)
- Sue Bird (Seattle Storm)
- Sylvia Fowles (Minnesota Lynx)
- Cheslea Gray (Los Angeles Sparks)
- Brittney Griner (Phoenix Mercury)
- Jewell Loyd (Seattle Storm)
- Tiffany Mitchell (Indiana Fever)
- Arike Ogwumike (Dallas Wings)
- Katie Lou Samuelson (Chicago Sky)
- Breanna Stewart (Seattle Storm)
- A'ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces).
Team USA already qualified for the 2020 Olympics despite the outcome in Serbia in February. The process provides an opportunity for continued growth and experience playing together prior to Tokyo this summer. Including their FIBA AmeriCup run in Puerto Rico in 2019 and their current collegiate slate, their overall record is 12-1 with their lone loss coming to the University of Oregon.
