Sophomores Abby Owings and Nikki Kiernan are coming off double-digit scoring averages during their freshman campaigns, and the Saints return 13 of 15 players overall, including four starters. Keep an eye out for newcomers Madison Temple and Michaela Ware as well — they might not see a ton of minutes this year on such a deep squad, but they’re the ones on whom the future depends.
Of course, the present is about two-time NCAA D3 Player of the Year Sydney Moss, who returns for her senior season with the Saints after leading the nation in points per game with 24.2. She also led the team in rebounds with 7.6 rebounds per game and blocked 18 shots and recorded 60 steals. During the NCAA postseason, Moss broke the NCAA all-division women’s or men’s tournament scoring record as she scored 197 points in the Saints’ six NCAA tournament games, and even registered a triple double in the NCAA Division III Championship Game. This is Moss’ team, and there’s little doubt the senior will want a repeat title in her final season.
