LaMelo Ball has no interest in waiting until National Signing Day to announce where he will play college hoops therefore the hoops phenom decided to announce early…four years early.
Ball is 13-year-old incoming freshman at Chino Hills (Calif.) High School and has some serious talent. He’s been grabbing interest from college programs for over a year but there is only one place he wants to play: UCLA. He committed to Steve Alford’s Bruins program on Friday and although a lot could change in four years, he seems pretty set on his decision (via Michelle Gardner of the Daily Bulletin)
It is my dream school. I decided to get it out of the way now instead of waiting for the future.
Ball has two older brothers committed to UCLA as well. Junior LiAngelo and senior Lonzo have both pledged their services to Alford in 2016 and 2017, respectively. The three brothers will be on the Chino Hills court together during the 2015-16 season. And yes, he becomes the first player from the class of 2019 to give a verbal commitment.
