The time has come to honor the best tennis players in the country at the D1 level with the honorees for HERO of The Week. Each week we will have a list of nominees for you to vote for that stood out in competition over the week prior.

Voting will take place in the poll at the bottom of this article following the list of nominees. Voting only takes place in the poll, and the voting will close on Friday at 10:00 a.m. PST for each poll.

Jasmine Apawti, Detroit Mercy

In Apawti's singles match with a foe from Milwaukee, she was able to survive and take her down in three sets. She sandwiched in a set loss, but fought to the end to maintain her victory.

Fatima Bizhukova, Wichita State

Bizhukova led off the day for the Shockers by pulling a shocker of her own in upsetting her foe from Oklahoma. Ranked 68th in the nation, the Wichita standout took down the player ranked 28th.

Macarena Olivares, Texas A&M

Olivares was another winner who pulled an upset, this time toppling a player from Ole Miss in a conference dual match. Unranked herself, the Aggie standout took down the player ranked 90th in the country.

Khrystyna Vozniak, Mississippi State

Vozniak represented the only singles win for the Bulldogs in a dual match with LSU. Going last in the singles rotation, the MSU starlet was able to win fairly easily in a 6-0, 6-1 breeze.

Carla Flores, Akron

One of just two singles winners for Akron against Miami (OH), Flores finished off singles play with a fairly dominant win over her Redhawks opponent. The Zips starlet claimed both sets in a 6-1, 6-2 victory.

Nancy Menjivar, Boise State

Menjivar gave everything she had in the fuel tank as she had to go a long distance to claim a singles victory versus Colorado State. Winning the first set, she was on the brink of victory before going into extra frames and finally finishing off her opponent 7-6 (9-7).

Natalie Novotna, Virginia Tech

Ranked 66th in the country, Novotna squared off with the player ranked just above her from NC State. In a three set match, the Hokie starlet was able to claim victory and should move up the rankings for it.
