The time has come to honor the best tennis players in the country at the D2 level with the honorees for HERO of The Week. Each week we will have a list of nominees for you to vote for that stood out in competition over the week prior.
Voting will take place in the poll at the bottom of this article following the list of nominees. Voting only takes place in the poll, and the voting will close on Friday at 10:00 a.m. PST for each poll.
Without further ado, here are the nominees for HERO of The Week!

Brendan Peterson, Lewis
In a cross-division matchup with Wright State, Peterson came away with the only victory for the Flyers in a dual match. The last singles match, Peterson downed his opponent in straight sets.

Lukas Storck, Flagler
The 38th-ranked singles player in D2 continued his great season with another straight set win versus his opponent from Belmont Abbey.

Oliver Frank, Azusa Pacific
Frank – the second-ranked singles competitor in D2 – was breathtaking in a conference matchup with Hawaii-Pacific, winning in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.

Christian Schmid, Azusa Pacific
Not to be outdone by his APU teammate, the ninth-ranked Schmid also won in straight sets vs HPU. To top off both players days, the duo combined to win their doubles match and defend their first overall ranking for doubles in the country.

Alejandro Valarezo Plaza / Blake Hunter, Washburn
The top duo for Washburn had a big ranked matchup with Northwest Missouri State in a meeting of the fourth ranked competitors and the 13th from NW Missouri. Plaza and Hunter seemed to have little trouble, winning 8-3.

Javier Villar, Young Harris
Villar was the only winner for YHC in a dual match with Lander. Against his opponent Gabriel Balestero, Villar won in straight sets to steal a point from the eighth ranked team in the country.

Jeremiah Gonzalez, St. Mary's (TX)
Gonzalez helped the Hilltoppers to a 6-3 victory over Cameron, and got the action started with a straight set victory in singles. That win happened to also be an upset of the 41st-ranked player in singles play.
