VOTE: D3 Men’s Ice Hockey HERO of the Week (1)

It’s time to take our first look at the best single-game performances in D3 Men’s Ice Hockey — the nominees for HERO of the Week!

The only way to vote is the poll at the bottom of the page. Once you’ve made your voice heard, be sure to share with friends so they can vote as well! Vote up to once per hour until polls close Friday at 10 AM Pacific.

Wallace, Becker
Becker College

James Wallace

Becker: In a 7-2 win over Assumption, Wallace recorded the first hat trick of the season for a CCC player with two of his goals coming on power-play opportunities. He also added an assist in the victory.

Ryan Stevens

Plymouth State: Stevens helped power his team to a 3-2 victory over Endicott over the weekend, tallying a pair of goals and assisting on the game-winner.

Nate Flynn

Augsburg: In a pair of wins over Gustavus and Concordia Moorhead, Flynn tallied three points. His best performance came in his team’s 3-2 win over Gustavus, scoring a pair of goals, including both the game-tying tally and the overtime game-winner. He earned an assist in his team’s 4-1 victory over Concordia.

Stefen Seel

Concordia Wisconsin: Seel led his team to a pair of victories over River Falls and Superior, tallying a goal and three assists in Saturday’s 4-2 win over Superior. The Falcons went 2-0 to start the season for just the second time in program history with a 4-3 victory over River Falls.

Larkin, Curry

Colin Larkin

Massachusetts Boston: With seven points in a pair of wins over Wentworth and Curry, Larkin led his team. In a 9-2 win over Leopards, the senior recorded the eventual game-winner plus three assists, before tallying his third career hat trick in a 6-1 victory over the Colonels.

Connor Hutchins

Brockport State: Hutchins led his team to back-to-back wins with five points to start the season. In Friday’s 6-2 victory over King’s College, Hutchins tallied an assist and a pair of goals, including the eventual game-winner, before adding another goal and assist in Saturday’s 4-1 win over Neumann.

Tanner Karty

Wisconsin Stevens Point: In his team’s season opening weekend, Karty tallied a pair of goals in a 6-1 win at Aurora before notching another goal and an assist in a 3-2 victory over Trine.[divider]

Levine, Suffolk
Suffolk University

Michael Levine

Suffolk: Levine backstopped his team to a 5-2 win over Assumption, recording 37 stops in the effort.

Jason Pucciarelli

Salem State: To help lead his team to a season-opening 3-2 win over Babson College, Pucciarelli made 49 stops, earning a .961 save percentage.

Zach Woodman

MSOE: The netminder opened the season with a 31-save effort to shutout eleventh-ranked Eau Claire in a 2-0 victory before making 26 stops in a 3-1 win over River Falls.

Christoffer Sjoo

New England College: In just his second career start for the Pilgrims, Sjoo earned his first collegiate shutout, making 18 stops in a 2-0 victory over Bryn Athyn.

Alexander Connal

Hobart: To open his season, Connal helped secure a 2-1 overtime win over seventh-ranked Oswego State, making 18 saves in over 60 minutes of play.

Jared Young

Morrisville State: Young backstopped his team to a pair of ties over the weekend, accumulating a staggering 81 saves. In a 2-2 tie with Manhattanville, Young stopped 40 of 42 shots before making 43 saves in his team’s 2-2 tying effort with Stevenson.[divider]
