The month of February represents the time to realize glory fought over an entire season for D2 Men's Basketball, resulting in either conference championships, NCAA Tournament berths, or historic runs to end the season on a high note.
For our nominees for the Team of The Month for February, we have specifically focused on squads who made it into the NCAA Tournament behind fantastic runs, season-long success, or other forces beyond them that gave them a chance for a national title.
Your role is to vote on one of the five candidates below in the poll following the list of nominees. Voting will close on March 9 at 10 a.m. PST, and you can only vote in the poll below.

Virginia State
February Record: 7-0
VSU has been one of the best teams in D2 all year, with a current record of 24-3 as they enter into the semifinals of the CIAA Tournament. An undefeated mark coupled with some stumbles from other Atlantic Region teams has put them in line to potentially host the Atlantic for the NCAA Tournament, an accomplishment that was slim prior to the season.

Lake Superior State
February Record: 8-1
LSSU was another standout program during the second month of the year with near double-digit wins to up their season total to 23. Advancing into the GLIAC semis, it looks as though the Lakers will be a decent threat in the upcoming NCAA Tournament.

Lincoln Memorial
February Record: 8-0
LMU faced one of the toughest schedules in February across the country if only for one matchup with Queens, the number two team in the country (LMU is ranked first). The Railsplitters took down their rivals by 15 points in the regular season finale, and should meet them once again in the upcoming SAC Championship.

Saint Martin's
February Record: 7-1
The Saints are hanging on to an NCAA Tournament spot currently, but their month of February helped them to get closer to securing a spot in the tourney. Their only loss came to Western Oregon – one of the top five teams in the nation – and each of their wins minus one came by at least seven points.

Regis
February Record: 9-0
Currently on a 12-game win streak in the RMAC Tournament, Regis continued the hot start they began in January with a torrid second month of 2018. Each of their wins were relatively close, with none by more than 12 points (both games against Black Hills State). Their momentum might just be enough to carry them into the NCAA Tournament pretty deeply.
