Under head coach Kent Madsen, the Thunder posted a 24-4 record last season, and the team’s 24 wins was the second-highest single-season win total in school history. The Thunder won its first CCIW Championship, its first since 2007, advancing to its second NCAA Tournament appearance in Madsen’s five-year’s on the Thunder bench, dropping their first-round match with BR-69 Wisconsin-Lutheran.

Leading the way for the Thunder, junior guard Katie McDaniels is coming off a strong sophomore campaign, averaging 12.8 points per game, with 4.3 assists per game. She was an honorable mention WBCA All-American and a unanimous First Team All-CCIW selection. In three seasons with the Thunder, senior Hannah Considine has scored 768 career points to move into 28th place on the program’s all-time scoring list and she is 23rd in career rebounds at Wheaton with 431.
