They hired a coordinator at one of the best schools in the FBS in Gerad Parker, who was previously Notre Dame’s offensive coordinator. Though Troy suffered a losing season in 2024, they hope they will bounce back this year.

Troy Head Coach Gerad Parker’s Background
Parker was in his first season as Notre Dame’s offensive coordinator in 2023, but he helped the team put together one of the most productive offenses in the FBS.
The Fighting Irish were seventh in the country in scoring offense (39.1 points per game) and 31st in total offense (429.2 yards per game) in 2023.
Before that, Parker had mostly worked with tight ends and running backs at a plethora of other schools.
He mentored wide receivers at UT Martin (2010), Marshall (2011-12), Purdue (2015-16), Duke (2018), and Penn State (2019). He coached tight ends at Purdue (2013-14) and Notre Dame (2022-23). He coached running backs at UT Martin from 2008 to 2009 and was a passing game coordinator in 2010 at UT Martin and at Penn State in 2019.
He was an offensive coordinator at West Virginia from 2020-21. He was also an interim head coach at Purdue in 2016 before going to Duke, where he was an offensive assistant in 2017.
