Louisiana Tech will be playing in the Sun Belt this season – despite the Bulldogs being slated for 20 games at one point.
Conference USA released a statement Monday that it “reached a positive resolution with Louisiana Tech that fully acknowledges our governing documents. We look forward to continued success and impact in the national landscape, driven by the collective strength and shared vision of our 10 member institutions.”

How Much Will Louisiana Tech Pay To Leave Conference USA?
Louisiana Tech was reportedly set to pay CUSA an exit fee of more than $8 million to go to the Sun Belt.
This isn’t the first time something like this has happened. Southern Miss, Old Dominion, and Marshall sued CUSA when they jumped to the Sun Belt in 2022. All three did play in the SBC that year, but they each paid $1.75 million to do so.
Earlier this year, both the Sun Belt and CUSA released schedules that included LA Tech on them, so the Bulldogs were slated for 20 games – which of course was never going to happen.
