Welcome to the 2020 FCS Jersey Countdown.
Throughout the May-August months, HERO Sports is going to name the best returning FCS player by jersey number, 99-1. Due to rosters being updated at different times for teams across the country and to keep things consistent, jersey numbers are based on the 2019 season.
The full 99-1 countdown/schedule can be found here.
*Note: Jersey numbers are based on 2019 rosters.
51: Taylor Tuiasosopo, OL (Sr.) — Montana State
Montana State owned one of the best FCS offensive lines last year. The Bobcats ranked No. 8 in the FCS with 258.1 rushing yards per game. Even when Big Sky defenses knew the run was coming, it couldn’t be stopped.
That offensive line brings back four starters, including Taylor Tuiasosopo. Tuiasosopo is a three-year starter at guard entering his senior season. He earned Third Team All-Big Sky Conference honors last season.
Tuiasosopo was a big recruiting get for the Bobcats. He was ranked a two-star recruit out of California and has been a consistent starter for MSU since his redshirt freshman season in 2017.
The 6-foot-4, 316-pounder may slide to center this season to anchor the o-line.
“A bigger, more physical center can help us because we’ve seen defenses use more and more big players over the center,” OL coach Brian Armstrong said.
“Tui gives us a physical presence (at center),” head coach Jeff Choate added.
