91: Jared Schiess, DL (Sr.) — Weber State
There’s a lot of Weber State pride in the Schiess family. Blake was a part of the football team in 2015 and 2016. Jared is going into his senior year on the football team and is married to Sam, a current member of the Wildcats volleyball team. Doug is the third brother to be a part of the football squad and is going to be a sophomore defensive lineman in 2020.
Jared has been a key part of Weber’s d-line since his redshirt freshman season in 2017 when he played in 13 game. He played in another 13 games the next year, totaling 29 tackles and 7.5 tackles for loss. Last year was a big one for Jared, which saw him start all 15 games and record 55 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
The 6-foot-3, 300-pounder earned All-Big Sky First Team honors as part of a top defense in the FCS.
With 41 career games played, Schiess brings experience, leadership and the physical brand of football that the Wildcats pride themselves on.
