UPDATE (Sept. 19): The Alliance of American Football is just getting started in building its rosters for the new eight-team spring league, and already nearly 60 FCS players are on board — most being players who were in the FCS just last fall.

Five HERO Sports All-Americans from 2017 are already signed up — Furman's Matthew Schmidt, Incarnate Word's Joe Zema, Lehigh's Troy Pelletier and North Dakota State's Tre Dempsey and James Fisher. Nearly 40 are on board (see full list below). The AAF will crank up its inaugural season next spring — starting one week after the NFL's Super Bowl and wrapping before May NFL camps begin following the NFL Draft. The league openly embraces giving players another shot to prove themselves to the NFL, and the schedule is catered to fit that.
Each player will receive a three-year, $250,000 contract with medical benefits and an "out clause" to go to the NFL. There are several other rule differences, such as no kickoffs. The season will be 10 weeks long, the rosters will have 50 players, and below are the franchises, their stadiums and their head coaches:
