The perception of Weber State for most of this season is an outstanding defense, lights out special teams and an offense that needs some work. As the regular season comes to an end and the No. 3 nationally-ranked Wildcats look to earn a Top 4 FCS playoff seed, the offense has now turned into a reliable unit.
Since a big 14-6 home win on then-No. 3 Eastern Washington in mid-October, a game where the offense received its most amount of questions, Weber has scored 34, 35, 26 and 31 points as its win streak extends to five games with an 8-2 overall record.

Quarterback Jake Constantine, who is dealing with some personal tragedy, has continuously gotten better as his first season with the Wildcats progresses. He began his career at Boise State and played last year at Ventura College. Constantine had some tough games early on, like 9-15 passing for 84 yards against Cal Poly, 10-23 for 89 yards against Northern Arizona and 16-27 for 176 yards and three interceptions against Montana State on Oct. 20.
But since that MSU game, his play has dramatically improved:
- 27-41 for 318 yards and 3 TDs at North Dakota
- 23-27 for 197 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT. vs. Sacramento State
- 18-27 for 207 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. at Southern Utah
As a team, the Wildcats haven't thrown for more than 200 yards all season but did so these last three games.

Constantine doesn't have to be an All-American for Weber to have playoff success. Its defense, special teams and running game can hold its own. But as this team continues to get more balanced, the more dangerous it gets.
The Wildcats now just need to take care of business at Idaho State. The Bengals are a dangerous team playing for their postseason lives at 6-4 and are coming off a costly 37-14 loss at Cal Poly.
With a win, the Wildcats are going to enjoy multiple home playoff games with a complete team rounding into shape.
