After BR-110 West Liberty‘s 29-28 upset of BR-23 Concord this past weekend, I thought it would be good to get to know their team a little better. So I did a fun Q&A with wide receiver Osman Kargbo, who caught a 47-yard pass in the big win this past weekend.
Kargbo seems to be bursting with energy and a good guy to have around, hopefully he can carry that over this season to help West Liberty continue to turn heads in D2 football.
How did the win against Concord feel? What are your personal and team goals moving forward?
The win against Concord was one of a kind! No better feeling than beating the reigning conference champions and also a ranked team in the country! A few of my personal goals include assisting the team in any way that I can. A touchdown a game would be the ideal situation, but game winning blocks are what really count. As a player, I just hope that our team gives it 100% every single game.
Walk us through your game day ritual. What meals are you eating? Any weird superstitions?
Game day ritual always includes a good breakfast, a few minutes in the hot tub, and watching college football pump up videos.
Who is one teammate you’d choose to bring with you on a deserted island and why?
Micah Lowe! This dude will put a smile on your face every single day! I would bring Micah simply because rather than dying from hunger, it would be laughter.
How’d you spend your summer?
I spent my summer working at Johnny Rockets, working out, and playing basketball every day.
What are your plans for after your football career?
After my football career is over, I plan to commission into the U.S. Marine Corps!
