Week 8 Group of Five Rankings: App State is New No. 2, Eastern Michigan Makes Jump

For the first time this season, App State is the No. 2 team in the Group of Five Rankings.

The Mountaineers' obliteration of Arkansas State in Week 7 pushed them past San Diego State — who struggled with Air Force at home — for the No. 2 spot behind UCF, who remains the clear No. 1. Boise State and Utah State retained their positions at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.

Also, Eastern Michigan finally won a close game and was rewarded with a 12-spot jump to No. 21, the highest spot of the season.
