The Mount St. Mary’s men’s basketball team is heading to the 2025 NCAA Tournament after winning the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. In the MAAC tournament, it defeated Marist 62-58, Merrimack 57-55, and Iona 63-49 in the championship game to clinch the auto-bid.
The Mountaineers are 22-12 overall this season and on a 4-game winning streak.
Mount St. Mary’s NCAA Tournament Appearances
In 2025, Mount St. Mary’s basketball will make its 7th appearance in the Division 1 NCAA Tournament.
The Mountaineers also reached the tourney in 1995, 1999, 2008, 2014, 2017, and 2021.

Mount St. Mary’s Basketball NCAA Tournament Wins
Mount St. Mary’s has won three games in the Division 1 NCAA Tournament, beating Coppin State in the 2008 play-in round, New Orleans in the 2017 First Four, and American University in the 2025 First Four.
Its overall record in the Big Dance is 3-6.
Mount St. Mary’s Basketball Coach Donny Lind
Donny Lind is in his first season as the Mount St. Mary’s head coach. He is the 23rd HC in the men’s basketball program history, and it’s Lind’s first college head coaching job.
Lind was an assistant coach at Mount St. Mary’s from 2013 to 2016. He also made assistant coaching stops at VCU and Radford and spent 2021 to 2024 at UNC Greensboro before taking over for the Mountaineers.
After the 2019-20 season where Radford went 21-11 with a 15-3 Big South record, Silver Waves Media recognized Lind as a Top 50 Impactful Low Major Coach in Division 1.
