The Patriot League’s Defensive Player of the Year, Pat Afriyie had a dominant 2016 season, leading his team in sacks and tackles for loss.
Afriyie had four multi-sack games over the course of the regular season, and had at least a half-sack in all but three games for the Raiders.
His 1.0 sack-per-game rate tied for fourth best in the FCS. He also added 21 tackles for a loss (averaging 2.1 per game), anchoring a Colgate defensive squad that finished 31st in scoring defense in all of the FCS and second in the Patriot League.
Afriyie clearly cemented his status as one of the best in the country at getting in the backfield over the course of the 2016 season.
