North Dakota State assembled one of the top defenses in the country this season, finishing fourth in FCS play in scoring defense (16.3 points per game) and 14th in total defense (320 yards per game).
A big part of the Bison’s collective success was the play of Greg Menard on the defensive line. He finished in the top 20 in FCS play with 9.5 sacks and led his team in both sacks and tackles for loss, also finishing third place in Missouri Valley Conference in both statistics.
Add in a forced fumble, a recovered fumble, a blocked kick, and even a pass breakup, and Menard clearly deserves recognition as one of the top defensive ends in the country.
