Iowa State is casting the 2018 recruiting net far and wide.
Matt Campbell and the Cyclones' football staff have made more offers to receivers and cornerbacks in the 2018 class than Texas or Kansas State have made to all 20 positions.
The Cyclones have made 365 total offers, by far the most in the Big 12. They have made a whopping 56 offers to receivers and 51 to cornerbacks, according to 247Sports as of June 28. Those 107 offers are far more than the 86 total offers the Longhorns have made to 2018 players and 91 the Wildcats have made.

Of the 20 positions listed by 247Sports, Iowa State has made the most offers to 15. For six positions, they've made at least double the number of offers as the next highest team. Their 26 offers to running backs dwarf that of West Virginia (12), the next highest team, as do their 22 offers to strong-side defensive ends offers and 23 offers to weak-side defensive ends (next highest is 11 for both).

Texas and Kansas State, meanwhile, have been far more selective with their 2018 offers. They've made a combined 177 offers, or fewer than Oklahoma, West Virginia or Iowa State. The Longhorns have the fewest (or tied for the fewest) number of offers to seven positions, including receivers (11), weak-side defensive ends (four), outside linebackers (three) and athletes (two).
The 2018 recruiting season is far from over and with the late-signing period still eight months away, these numbers are guaranteed to change. Although it's highly, highly unlikely anyone catches the Cyclones.
